[D] Sadhbh arrived to the walkways above docking bay twelve five minutes before her and Tevis had agreed to meet. From her perch on the walkways she could see the Lir in all her glory. The Sovereign Class starship elegantly sat in the bay, her lights turned off and engines cold for the first time in many, many years. As Sadhbh looked at the ship she reminisced about the good ol' days from the Klingon war all the war to the morning she received transfer orders to 777. She sat down on the walkway, and placed a case with 12 bottles of cider next to her. The pair probably wouldn't get through all 12 but anything could happen when the duo got together.

[D] Tevis, for as much as he put on the distant, commanding presence while on duty, and around his subordinates, was someone who cared deeply for his friends, and did all he could to be someone that they felt comfortable around and enjoyed the company of. That being said, there was a noticeable uptick of the corner of his mouth as he made his way to the walkways, a truly giant pizza, in hand as he went to catch up with his friend. When he finally caught sight of the Human, he grunted, waving to her as he approached. Setting the pizza down next to the cider, Tevis took a seat in the space next to Sadhbh and offered her a rare smile. “You tell anyone I said this, and I’ll deny it to my dying day, but its good to see you again Sadhbh. The beach, endless fruity drinks, and all those attractive men simply doesn’t hold a candle to being back in the saddle.” He said, looking down at the classic, sleek lines of the old ship, the memories of his time aboard flooding back.

"My god, is that a compliment from THE Tevis Bor Pog. I never thought I'd see the day." Sadhbh replied with a healthy amount of sarcasm. Before leaning in for a hug. "Ah it's good to see you it'll be nice to have you running the show in tactical again. I think lieutenant O'Rielly was about to keel over from wearing the CTO and ACTO hats at the same time. But she's been doing a good job, I think you two will work well together." Sadhbh grabbed a drink and cracked it open. She took a sip, enjoying the bite of the cider before speaking again. "It almost feels like a lifetime ago we were on her bridge, galavanting around the galaxy, I like being on a Starbase but I have to admit I miss the hum of the impulse engines when I went to sleep."

“All these years, and I can still surprise you, my natural talent amazes even me sometimes!” He said with a serious look fora moment, before breaking out into a chuckle, accepting the hug from the taller Human happily…he really had missed his friend…ah hell maybe he was going soft in his old age. “From what I’ve read she’s done better than great…kid’s a damned prodigy, and thats me saying that!” He said, reaching over to grab one of the bottles, popping the top with the end of his sharp tusk, greedily downing the dark green effervescent drink, one of which he’d not had the real version of in quite some time. He was almost tempted to ask Sadhbh where she got it, but, knowing his friend, probably figured it was best to just not think about it. He popped the top on the box of pizza, gesturing for Sadhbh to take a slice, while he happily grabbed one, downing the whole slice in one bite with his usual Tellarite gusto, before turning his attention to the Lir, hanging as majestic as ever with its sleek lines, and classic looks. “I’ll miss the Lir, but, as you Humans say, ‘I’m getting too old for this shit’, and the idea of sometime aboard a starbase as…well-equipped as this one is quite appealing. Though, being out in the field sure was something, wasn’t it…I’ll miss it, but I have a feeling this gigantic place won’t be half bad!” He said, voice ringing with Betazoid optimism.

[D] Just as he'd entered the lounge so did he live, quiet as he strided off down the corridor away from the lounge's door, his brief time spent at the Lounge and the sleepover within it having in his eyes arrived at its conclusion. At least for now that was, as he shoved his hands in his pockets and departed with a slight pep in his step and a smile quiet and settled upon his features. 'Goddess be with the lovers, at whatever stage in such a journey they might be.' He'd mouthed then in prayer as he headed into a turbolift.

Ah, a new posting; how exciting! New people to meet, new things to experience, new places to explore… And Ferris would have been well on his way to exploring them had he not gotten completely lost. The Voth had already turned a good number of heads as he prowled around. It wasn’t that he was intentionally prowling, but that was what it looked like – when you were a rather tall, scarred, scaley guy with a resting bitch face, it was difficult to look like you were doing anything other than hunting someone down. The medical uniform and the bag slung over his shoulder made it look like he was maybe going after someone who had failed to attend a physical or had ran away from the medical bay. He wasn’t going after anyone, though. The only thing that he was in search of was a turbolift. Just off the shuttle that had brought him to the station, he had managed to do at least three loops around the walkways of the drydock section before realising that he had been past the same things already. The first time he had been too busy gawking at all of the starships and shuttles on display in the interior of the spacedock. The second time he had actually been trying to find a way out – and the third time had been unintentional, not even having realised he had looped around again until he past the same couple of engineers as before. Six months on Earth had gotten him used to finding his way around conventional buildings, but apparently it hadn’t prepared him enough for stepping foot onto a Federation starbase for the first time… Because even though he was sure that turbolifts were marked as such, he hadn’t managed to find one yet. What a good start!

Ens. Elwyn Preston | SEC BOT 27-Jan-24 09:33 PM
A new day, a new chance to make friends and have fun. That was the mentality Elwyn always went through the day with, and today was no different, because even when on duty you could still do both of those things! Phaser in holster, tricorder in hand, uniform neat, commbadge, rank pip and boots shining brightly, the Health and Safety Inspector’s assignments had lead them to the drydock, one of their favourite places to be on the entire starbase (well, besides the environment ring, the promenades and the holodecks, anyway) to carry out some inspections. On the list today were some lights, fire suppression systems and the occasional replicator, all of which had recently been serviced by Operations and subsequently needed checking to make sure they were up to code. Having already checked and signed off the replicators and lights the android had moved on to the fire suppression systems spread throughout the walkways. Scanning them one-by-one with a tricorder to confirm their working order, all while people passed by going from place to place, in a typical fashion Elwyn had smiled at everyone who did, and subsequently memorised their faces in the process. It was through that memorisation that the Ensign had recognised a Medical officer on his second time around the walkways. He had seemingly been looking at all the super cool ships the first time he had passed by, and the second time he appeared to be looking for the place he was trying to go, so when they noticed him approaching for a third time they decided to stop what they were doing and see if he needed any assistance. Stepping out a few metres in front of him as they put their tricorder back on their belt, Elwyn gave a friendly wave and a smile as they spoke to the taller individual. “Hi Lieutenant! Are you trying to head somewhere? I don’t mean to intrude at all, I’ve just seen you pass by three times and you look like you’re trying to go somewhere.”

He was nearing the completion of the third lap of the walkways and almost headed into the fourth when the Ensign stepped out in front of him. It would appear that his becoming completely lost hadn’t gone unnoticed. He wondered what it was that the Ensign had taken note of: was it him having walked by three times now (something that took a lot of walking, given that the interior of the drydock was so large,) or was it the fact that as he went, he was squinting at the outside wall? Was a door leading to a cupboard, a turbolift, or somewhere else? It might have helped if he knew how to properly read Standard – he was getting there with his comprehension of it, but it appeared that other languages weren’t his forte. The Voth came to a halt before the Ensign who had stepped out in front of him. The naturally grouchy look of his immediately brightened up at the Ensign’s smile and wave, and he offered her a toothy grin in return. “Ah, yes, actually – if it’s not much trouble…” He started, holding both hands in front of himself and tapping his claws together sheepishly as he peered down at this person. His voice was deep but smooth; chittering and clicking Voth language translated through the UT. “Could you point me in the direction of the turbolift? It would appear that I’ve managed to get myself a little bit lost. Oh, what am I saying – very lost!”

The friendly smile on Elwyn’s face grew as the significantly taller Lieutenant accepted her offer for help, another opportunity to do good, be helpful, and just maybe make a new friend appearing before her like a door opening itself for her to walk through. What was also quite evident was that her grin was no longer just friendly, but also a tiny bit excited. A total social butterfly, the Ensign loved talking to people even if only for a brief moment, and helping people was one of her most very favourite things to do, so what had started as a routine day of important safety checks had now turned into a day of important safety checks and meeting someone new and helping them, which was quite exciting indeed. “It’s no trouble at all! Follow me!” The android replied cheerfully and reassuringly, sounding more than happy to assist the Medical officer in locating the nearest turbolift. The thought of why he hadn’t been able to locate one having not even entered her head for a millisecond, it was without delay that the Security officer turned and started heading in the same direction the Voth had been walking in to begin guiding him to his destination, making sure to not go too fast nor too slow. “I’m Elwyn!” She introduced in a chipper tone, before almost instantly moving on to ask a question that popped into her head. “Did you just transfer here? I noticed you’re carrying a bag.” She enquired politely, not wanting to cross boundaries. Her tone switching from polite to playful straight after, she continued yet again. “I also saw you looking at all the ships! I love coming here and looking at them all in my free time, - I can spend hours people and ship-watching, - but working here is great, too, because then I can look at all the cool ships as I do my inspections!”

“Ah, fantastic,” he replied enthusiastically at Elwyn’s ‘no trouble at all.’ Theatrically, he let his shoulders sag in relief. “I was beginning to think that I might be stuck here forever, destined to roam the drydock for the rest of time until someone realised that I hadn’t shown up for work yet!” It was unrealistic – his sense of direction wasn’t that awful that he never would have found his way out, plus eventually he would have stopped to ask someone himself – but the drama made it sound more amusing. “And yes, I did just transfer here. I’m Ferris – Lieutenant Hathen Ferris technically, but most just say Ferris. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ensign Elwyn!” He hoped his squinting at her rank pips had resulted in him getting the rank correct. His eyesight certainly wasn’t as good as other senses (if it had been better, then maybe he would have been on his way to picking the Standard alphabet apart more correctly by now.) He fell into pace beside the Ensign, although he slowed his strides a little to match her own. How typical that they were headed back in the direction that he had just walked from. “You have so many nice ships and small shuttles here. I don’t know what that one is-“ he pointed a claw up at a sleek, custom delta flyer, “-but I like it. Starfleet design is so uhm... Intuitive? Aerodynamic... Sexy.” Blame the last on a mistranslation from the UT, but some Starfleet ships really were sexy. Realising he probably shouldn’t be looking up while he walked (perfect way to stumble and trip), he turned back to Elwyn intead. “Do you inspect the ships?”

Internally finding the Lieutenant’s comments about him beginning to think he might be stuck in the walkways forever really quite funny, Elwyn smiled warmly as the officer introduced himself. “You too, Lieutenant Ferris! I’m technically Ensign Elwyn Preston, but most people just call me Elwyn!” She replied cheerfully, all while glancing up at the significantly taller individual beside her with a friendly smile still well and truly attached to her face, before continuing to look where she was going a moment later. The last thing she wanted to do was walk into someone and cause them to drop or spill something, or worse still knock them over entirely. Despite being relatively short and small in scale the android was quite dense, weighing nearly twice as much as the average Human of a similar build to her, so it was quite easy to become someone’s immovable obstacle by accident. Glancing out towards the ships as Ferris spoke about them, and then to the one he specifically gestured at, the Security officer couldn’t help but agree. All the ships, at least in her opinion, were very, very cool looking, but that one looked especially unique and cool. Nodding in agreement at Starfleet design being intuitive and aerodynamic, Elwyn couldn’t help but giggle a little as the Voth described it as sexy. “They are!” The Health and Safety Inspector agreed happily. “That one looks like it’s based off of a delta flyer. I think it’s custom but I couldn’t be completely certain without looking up its registration.” She added a moment, later before responding to his enquiry, explaining that her job did include going aboard the ships, but that she wasn't responsible for the entire thing. The two continued to chat as they headed towards the turbolift before parting ways with a smile and a wave, Elwyn very much so hoping they'd meet the Lieutenant again soon. (edited)

SCPO. Tagm Vohk | ENG BOT 27-Jul-24 04:54 AM
Senior Chief Petty Officer Tagm Vohk stepped onto Starbase 777 for the first time ever. He wore his full Starfleet uniform and had a small bag at his side, not particularly standing out among the people in the corridor. The Tellarite was just another arrival among a sea of people after all. While this was a momentous occasion for him it was a regular day for almost everyone else. He had just taken a transport to the station and needed to pick up the rest of his luggage soon. Before that though Tagm wanted to see the station a bit and find his quarters, to see what the next years would look like. The Chief was more than familiar with what a new placement looked like but knew that this station was something different. It was massive and at a crossroads, although only time would tell what that really meant.

Mallex Macintyre | CIV BOT 27-Jul-24 09:02 AM
Coincidentally Macintyre had just arrived on the station as well. He was deep down incredibly excited about the prospect of beginning his life anew following his time being incarcerated. Still though he figured he should try to keep a low profile, he had fears that someone may recognize him for his time smuggling in Boston. What could derail things worse for him though would be an overly watchful eye from security. In spite of having just left prison he felt that he needed to reform himself and being given a bad reputation from his file scared him. He knew that if he was to begin anew he would need to stay on the good side of Star fleet officers. In the past he had done well at charming officers over to his side but that had generally been out of deceit. Part of him didn’t even know how to carry himself in a proper conversation with anyone from Starfleet. This is all why he was incredibly concerned that a person who he had mistaken as being a security team member was the first person he would see on the station. Nervously he tried to nod but it only made him look incredibly suspicious. He spoke in his strong Boston accent. “oh hello there officer, I hope there is no trouble today.” Overall he was just flustered, he had spent months now thinking about the day he would arrive here and he was already overthinking things in the worst way possible.

SCPO. Tagm Vohk | ENG BOT 29-Jul-24 03:16 AM
Tagm turned towards Mall ex and looked them up and down. Clearly they were just a civilian who was concerned about something. The Chief wondered if he had accidently bumped into them. The statement seemed completely unnecessary after all. In the end Tagm was the type to worry about himself endless needed. He loved talking to others but did not focus on them. "No trouble at all." *The Chief chuckled slightly as Mallex called him officer. He was in no way an officer an never had been. Technically he was a non commissioned officer but that was just a fancy term for senior enlisted. He was quite happy with his role and had no wish to deal with the responsibilities of a commision. "And I'm no officer. Just another crewmen." Still, this was a new person and that meant a new introduction. He was not going to turn that down. There was no reason to turn down some small talk and see where things went. He decided to try and show his experience as part of this to comfort the civilian. "Still I've been around for a little while. I'm Chief Tagm Vohk."

Mallex quickly reassessed the situation and discovered that he had been catastrophically wrong. It didn’t seem as though this starfleet chief was actually after him at all, he was simply being paranoid. He quickly attempted to change his tune into a more positive one. Smoothing over first impressions was now his number one priority. “I’m happy to meet you, I’m Mallex Macintyre. I just moved out here from Boston on Earth.” There was a short awkward pause as Macintyre searched for the right words to open up conversation a little bit more. Before he had gone to prison most of the time he only talked to people to get what he wanted. Simply befriending people was a foreign concept that he was still adjusting to. “How’d you end up on this station.”
